Sony Creative Science Award
Congratulations to Shane Pan on winning the special award for the Sony Creative Science Award.
The Sony Creative Science Award is Singapore’s largest national toy-making competition for primary school students, jointly organised by the Science Centre Singapore and the Sony Group of Companies in Singapore, with the support of the Ministry of Education.
Shane built a magnetic rubber-band gun for fun in about four hours - including time taken to conceptualise the design. He used mostly household objects, such as plastic tubs, clothes pegs and fridge magnets. "Art should be learnt from the heart and not from the teacher, and it should be inspired by the self," said the amateur actor, who is also considering a future career as a product designer.
His hard work and effort had paid off and we are proud of Shane's achievement.
The Experiential Learning continues from P3 to P6 under the MJ Inquiry Programme.
E.g - DNA Enrichment
- Growing Rainbow Corn
- Lab Investigations
- Exploration in the School Gardens
- Boat Race
- ICT Argumentation with Concept Cartoon
Our Science Talent Management Programme (from P4 to P6) seeks to stretch our students' great potential in science through customised lessons which tap on their problem-solving and higher-order thinking and process skills.
