ROBOTICS CLUB
The Robotics MCCA provides students with meaningful opportunities to explore the exciting world of robotics, coding, and engineering through hands-on learning experiences. Using the LEGO Spike Prime core set, students learn to design, build, and program robots while applying computational thinking and problem-solving skills to complete a variety of structured missions and open-ended challenges. These activities encourage students to think creatively and apply theoretical knowledge in practical ways.
Throughout the programme, students develop a strong foundation in coding concepts, engineering design, and logical thinking. They are guided to analyse problems, test solutions, and refine their designs through an iterative process of trial and improvement. By working on collaborative projects, students also learn the importance of communication, teamwork, and shared responsibility, gaining valuable experience in working effectively with their peers.
Students are also given opportunities to represent the school in external robotics competitions. Selected Primary 5 students participate in national-level robotics events where they apply their coding, design, and problem-solving skills in a competitive and collaborative environment. Primary 6 students further extend their learning by taking part in advanced robotics competitions that challenge them to demonstrate creativity, teamwork, and innovative thinking. These experiences allow students to apply their knowledge in authentic settings while building confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of accomplishment.
The Robotics MCCA nurtures a growth mindset as students learn to embrace challenges and view setbacks as opportunities for improvement. Through experimentation and innovation, students build confidence in their abilities while developing curiosity and a willingness to explore new ideas. The hands-on nature of the activities ensures that learning remains engaging, purposeful, and enjoyable.
Beyond technical skills, the programme aims to cultivate essential 21st-century competencies such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and adaptability. Through project-based learning and authentic problem-solving experiences, the Robotics MCCA empowers students to grow into confident, future-ready individuals who are equipped with the skills and mindset to become the innovators and problem-solvers of tomorrow.
